On May 25, 2016, at approximately 9:10am a 11 year old girl was walking east bound in the area of Facer Street and St. George Street in the City of St. Catharines. The girl had been walking to school.
A west bound black and blue coloured, older model Jeep drove up to the girl. The older man who was driving offered the girl a ride. When the girl said no and started to walk away, the Jeep turned onto a side street and began to parallel the girl’s direction of travel possibly following her. The girl became frightened and ran from the area. The Jeep was last seen east bound on Facer Street. No licence plate was obtained.
The girl was not injured and no physical contact was made.
Uniform officers from St. Catharines met with the girl and conducted an investigation. The identity of the man remains unknown. He is described as:
• Male, white, scruffy, approximately 50-60 years
• Short white hair, balding with hair on the sides and back of his head
• Big nose
• Chubby cheeks
• Small round eyes
The Niagara Regional Police Service would like to identify the man to determine his intentions. At present there is no apparent criminal offence that has been alleged or committed.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Niagara Regional Police at 905-688-4111 ext. 4233
