Drowning death in Richmond Hill

York Regional Police have located the body of a 34-year-old man from the Town of Richmond Hill who drowned in Bond Lake.

On Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at approximately 5:20 p.m., police attended Bond Lake in Richmond Hill for a drowning incident. A group had been fishing at the lake when a 34-year-old man went swimming but did not return.

The York Regional Police Marine Unit and Richmond Hill Fire and Emergency Services conducted a search of the lake and located the man’s body which was recovered at approximately 1 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.  A post-mortem examination will be conducted. His death is not considered suspicious at this time.
