Police seek suspects following two convenience store robberies

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking public assistance in identifying three suspects following two convenience store robberies.

On Monday, May 23, 2016, shortly after 2 a.m., police were called to a convenience store in the area of Yonge Street and Henderson Drive, in the Town of Aurora for a report of a robbery. The investigation has revealed that three suspects entered the convenience store, one of them armed with a handgun. The men made a demand for cash and cigarettes. The employee complied and the suspects fled the store on foot with a quantity of cash and cigarettes. The employee was not physically injured as a result of the incident.

A short time later, on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 2:25 a.m., police were called to a convenience store in the area of Bathurst Street and Humberland Drive in the Town of Richmond Hill for reports of a robbery. Two suspects entered the store, one of them armed with a handgun. One of the suspects struck the employee with the gun then made a demand for cash and cigars. The employee complied and the suspects left the store with cash, cigars and a backpack containing the employee’s personal items.

The suspects involved in both robberies had a similar description and they are believed to be linked.

  • Wearing jeans, a black hoodie, a medical mask covering the face
  • Armed with a gun

  • 5’7” to 5’9”
  • Thin build
  • Wearing jeans, a black hoodie, a black ski mask covering the face
  • Armed with a gun
Suspect #3
  • Male, black
  • 5’7” to 5’9”
  • Thin build
  • Wearing jeans, a black hoodie, a black ski mask covering the face

 

The investigation is ongoing.
