On Thursday May 12th, 2016, just shortly after 9:30pm, Hamilton Police officers were dispatched into the area of Fennell Avenue East and Upper Gage Avenue after receiving reports of a suspected impaired driver.
Police located and stopped the involved vehicle to investigate further in the area as reported. In conversation with the man driving the police officer observed a small plastic bag of suspected cocaine inside the vehicle. The officer observed the man attempt to conceal it under the seat. The man was arrested. As a result of the investigation police also seized evidence to indicate the man was trafficking cocaine which included a scale, mobile devices and cash. There was no evidence that the man was impaired by alcohol or drugs.
Estimated street value of the cocaine seized is $300.
Hamilton Police have opposed the man’s bail and he will appear in court to answer to the charges.
CHARGED: Keil Ken FRANCIS – 29 year old from Hamilton
CHARGES: Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking Cocaine, Proceeds of Crime Under $5000 and 2 counts of Failure to Comply with Probation.
