(WYOMING, ON) – On Sunday, May 22, 2016 at approximately 3:25 a.m. members of the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a request by the Canadian National Railway (CNR) to attend a train track located east of Camlachie Road and south of Confederation Line, Town of Plympton- Wyoming, with regard to a pedestrian being struck by a train.

Through the early stages of the OPP investigation, it has been discovered that a male, now deceased, was struck by an east bound CNR train.

Members of the West Region OPP Identification Unit, the Lambton OPP, CNR Police and the Regional Coroner’s Office continue to investigate.  As this investigation is in its early stages, the deceased has yet to be positively identified.

The OPP with the assistance of the Town of Plympton- Wyoming have closed Camlachie Road between Confederation and Churchill Lines as Camlachie Road is currently blocked by the east bound train.  It is anticipated that Camlachie Road will be closed until approximately 9:00 a.m.  The OPP will advise once Camlachie Road has been cleared for vehicular traffic.
