On Monday May 17, 2016 shortly before 12:00 am, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a hit and run that had just occurred in the area of Prince Charles Drive near Charlotte Street, St. Catharines.
A car lost control on Prince Charles Drive striking a parked vehicle. The driver then fled the area in the damaged vehicle.
Police located the car shortly after, abandoned a few blocks away in the parking lot of a local Church. The driver had fled the area on foot.
The NRPS K-9 Unit, Constable Brent Sathmary and K-9 partner PSD Zoey, tracked down the male suspect hiding nearby in a treed area.

The 18 year old driver, Tyler Anderson of St. Catharines is charged with:
Impaired driving
Fail to remain at the scene of an accident.
The damage to the vehicles is estimated at $10,000.
There were no injuries as a result of the collision.
Andreson was released on a Promise to Appear by an Officer in Charge with a court date of June 10, 2016.
