SUSPICIOUS PERSON

On May 15th 2016 at approximately 7:00 p.m., two males were observed going door to door in the Belmont/Highland area in the city of Kitchener. Both males knocked on doors, an advised home owners that they were required to enter the residence to ensure their water pipes in the basement were to code. Police are reminding the public to not allow anyone into their residence they do not know and to report any suspicious behavior immediately.

SEARCH WARRANT

On May 13th, 2016, Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a Ottawa Street South residence in Kitchener. The Warrant was executed with the assistance of the Guelph Police Tactical Unit. Four people were arrested at the residence. Police seized quantities of heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, morphine and marihuana along with other property including prohibited weapons and replica firearms. The four individuals are facing a total of 35 charges. They were all held for bail hearings.

On May 15, 2016 at 11:50 p.m., police responded to the Woodside National Historic Site on Wellington Street in the city of Kitchener. 11 sets of windows and doors were broken by an unknown person. Officers responded and conducted a search of the area. FRAUD – GENERAL

Recently Waterloo Regional Police Service had received several online dating complaints targeting senior citizens. The suspects are based abroad, mostly in Africa pretending to be European professionals working there. The suspects befriend victims on various international dating websites such as Zoosk and Match.com. After gaining trust, the suspects will tell the victims some kind of tragic story and they would ask the victims to send over money. Victims have lost large amount of money. Police advise the public to be cautious when using online dating sites; when people ask for money online, refuse.

On Sunday May 15, 2016, members of the Central Division C.O.R.E. located a stolen motor vehicle that had been used in numerous shoplifting occurrences throughout the Region of Waterloo. Three male parties were located in a residence nearby and arrested for numerous offences. The investigation is continuing and further charges may be laid.

On May 11, 2016 a 27 year old male was arrested in the area of Strasburg Road in Kitchener for Break, Enter and Theft, three counts of Theft under $5000, two counts of Possession of a Stolen Credit Card and 16 counts of Use Stolen Credit Card. The investigation was related to a Break and Enter Investigation that occurred in Woolwich Township on April 29, 2016, where the two males entered a residence and went through an unlocked vehicle in the garage stealing a purse containing two credit cards. The credit cards were then used at to purchase merchandise at various commercial businesses throughout the Kitchener area. The 27 year old male was held for a show cause hearing on the substantive charges of Break and Enter, Theft under $5000 x 3, Possession of Stolen Credit Cards x 2, Use stolen credit cards x 16, Possession of Break In Tools, Possession of a Controlled Substance (marihuana) and Possession of Stolen Property under $5000. A warrant is being requested for the 25 year old male the above mention charges. Investigation is continuing as there are several victims outstanding. Further charges are expected. MVC PERSONAL INJURY

Location: WOOLWICH ST S and FOUNTAIN ST N, WOOLWICH ON Canada

On Monday May 16, 2016 at approximately 8:45am a motor vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Fountain Street and Woolwich Street South, in Woolwich Township. A white Ford Taurus driven by a 73 year old Cambridge man was struck by a transport truck driven by a 64 year old Ethel man. The truck was travelling east bound on Fountain Street when the Ford turned from Woolwich Street directly in front of the truck. The truck struck the Ford causing it to spin off the roadway. The driver of the Ford was transported to Grand River hospital via ambulance and was later transported to an out of town hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Ford was charged with Fail to Yield to traffic on a through Highway.

VEHICLE / PLATE SEIZURE

On Friday May 13th, 2016 at 11:30 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police stopped a male travelling eastbound at 130 km/hr in a posted 70 km/hr zone on Maple Grove Road in the city of Cambridge. The 32 year old Kitchener resident was charged with stunt driving, speeding and a document offence under the Highway Traffic Act. The car was seized and impounded for seven days under Ontarios Vehicle Impoundment Program.

ROBBERY

On Saturday, May 14, 2016, at approximately 2:05 a.m., an unidentified male attended the Tim Hortons located at 2420 Homer Watson Boulevard in the City of Kitchener. The male waited until all customers had exited the store then approached the counter employee and claimed he had a gun. The employee handed over cash. The male ran out of the restaurant. A K9 search of the area was conducted, although unsuccessful. The employee was not physically injured as a result of the incident. The suspect is described as a white, early-mid 20s, short blonde hair, a white ballcap, and a white t-shirt with blue stripes.
